For Push-Up Challenges

22 a day, 22 a week, 22,000 collectively, however you frame it

Push-up challenges are the most accessible high-energy fundraiser there is. They look great on social, they pair with veterans causes, mental-health causes, and military charities, and they scale from one office to a 5,000-employee global campaign. Per-rep pledges turn small effort into real impact.

Why push-ups work as a fundraising format

Anyone can do a push-up. Modified, full, knee, against-the-wall. The format scales to fitness level. Nobody gets cut.
Video check-ins build community. Participants log reps with a 5-second video clip. The internal Slack channel turns into the most engaging thing the company has done all year.
Cause alignment is built in. "22 push-ups a day for 22 days" is a recognized awareness format for veteran suicide prevention. Mental health, military, first-responder charities all pair naturally. Veterans Day is a recurring trigger event.
The numbers compound. 50 employees, 30 days, 22 push-ups per day = 33,000 reps. At $0.10 per rep that's $3,300 to the chosen charity. The math is fast, the impact is real.

How it runs

Create a campaign with the unit "push-up" or "rep". Pick the charity. Set the duration (Veterans Day week, full month of November, custom).
Participants log reps via the built-in tracker. Video check-ins are optional but encouraged: 5-second clip, automatic timestamping.
Sponsors pledge per rep or per day. Cards are held until the campaign closes; charge happens at the end based on verified totals.
Live leaderboard shows individual and team progress. Crown badges for top performers. Department vs department or team vs team formats supported.
Campaign closes. Stripe auto-bills the pledgers. The veterans nonprofit, mental-health charity, or other recipient gets a single check.

Push-up challenge formats

Veterans Day Push

22 push-ups for 22 days

Recognized awareness format for veteran suicide prevention. Starts November 11, runs through Thanksgiving. Each participant commits to 22 push-ups daily. Video clips post to the internal channel. $0.50 per rep pledged by leadership = $11 per participant per day. 100 employees = $1,100/day toward a veterans-cause charity. After 22 days: ~$24,000.

Single-Day Burnout

Push-up-a-thon, max reps in 60 minutes

One Friday afternoon, the office gathers. Each team has 60 minutes to log as many cumulative reps as possible. Video documentation, judges scattered through the room. Per-rep pledges from leadership and friends-and-family. Sales department tops the leaderboard with 4,400 reps. $1 per rep = $4,400 to a local first-responder charity.

Mental Health Awareness

May "Move Through It" push-up campaign

Pair with Mental Health Awareness Month. Daily push-up commitment, video documentation, peer-to-peer accountability. The shared discomfort becomes a metaphor for mental fitness. Per-rep pledges go to NAMI or a local mental health nonprofit.

Push-up challenge variations

First-responder appreciation challenge

Local police, fire, and EMS departments often run their own push-up challenges. Pair with a corporate sponsor who matches pledges. Per-rep dollars go to a first-responder support fund.

Sports team off-season

High school or college sports team runs a push-up challenge in the off-season. Per-rep pledges from family, alumni, and community. Funds team equipment, travel, or a charity the team picks.

Cancer survivorship campaign

Push-up challenge in honor of a colleague, alumnus, or family member who beat cancer. Per-rep pledges go to a cancer center or research foundation. Video documentation makes it personal.

Memorial / honor challenges

Annual push-up challenge in memory of a fallen colleague, service member, or first responder. Specific count (the year of their birth, the number of years they served, the number of lives they saved) becomes the daily target.

Distributed team variation

Distributed company. Each employee logs daily reps from home with a video clip. Cross-time-zone leaderboard. Builds remote-team cohesion in a way Slack chitchat never will.

Family / alumni challenge

Family reunion or alumni group runs a 30-day push-up challenge. Per-rep pledges from extended family fund a scholarship or family-cause donation. Video clips on the family group chat.
