What does a donor actually pay?

There are two fees on every online donation. ScanRaise's 2.5% is the platform fee. The other is Stripe's standard processing fee, which applies to every credit card transaction online, regardless of platform.

Donors can cover the fees. Every donation page shows a "cover the fees" checkbox. When toggled on, the donor is charged a slightly higher amount so your org still receives the full intended donation. About 60% of donors opt in.

Pricing FAQ

Are there any setup, monthly, or contract fees?
No. The only fee ScanRaise charges is 2.5% on each donation. There are no setup fees, no monthly fees, no per-fundraiser fees, and no contracts. Standard Stripe processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per donation) apply on top, the same as any other online payment.
When do I get the money?
If your org has connected its own Stripe account, donations land in your bank account on Stripe's standard schedule (usually 2 business days for new accounts, next-day for established ones). If you use platform mode (no Stripe Connect), ScanRaise collects the donations and pays out monthly via check or ACH.
Can donors cover the fees?
Yes. Every donation page has a "cover the fees" checkbox. When the donor toggles it on, the charged amount is grossed up so your org still receives the full intended donation. The math is shown on the button right next to the toggle.
Do you charge for refunds?
No. ScanRaise refunds the 2.5% platform fee with the donation. Stripe's processing fee is non-refundable per Stripe policy.
What payment methods do you accept?
Apple Pay, Google Pay, and all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Donors don't need to create an account or download an app.
Are there volume discounts for large districts?
For school districts, multi-site sports leagues, or other large multi-org deployments processing more than $250,000/year through ScanRaise, contact us about district pricing. The default is 2.5% for everyone.
Is there a free trial?
There's no trial because there's nothing to trial - the platform is free to use. You only pay the 2.5% fee when a donation is processed. Sign up, build your campaign, and you owe nothing until money moves.
