Political campaigns

Schools, sports teams, churches, and nonprofits run on the 2.5% flat fee above. Political campaigns and PACs need extra capacity (canvasser tracking, voter file import, FEC disclosure) so they pay an additional per-campaign monthly subscription on top of the 2.5% donation fee.

ScanRaise is a technology platform, not a campaign finance advisor. Campaigns are responsible for their own FEC compliance. The 2.5% donation fee applies to all tiers; the monthly subscription is per active political campaign. Paid upgrades open Stripe Checkout from Political Dispatch and activate only after Stripe confirms the subscription.

What does a donor actually pay?

There are two fees on every online donation. ScanRaise's 2.5% is the platform fee. The other is Stripe's standard processing fee, which applies to every credit card transaction online, regardless of platform.

Pricing FAQ

Are there any setup, monthly, or contract fees?
Standard fundraising has no setup fee, monthly fee, per-fundraiser fee, or contract. ScanRaise charges 2.5% on each donation, and Stripe processing applies separately. Political Plus and Pro campaigns also have the per-campaign monthly subscription listed above.
When do I get the money?
If your organization connected its own Stripe account, verification timing varies by account and required checks. The first payout is typically 7 to 14 days after the first successful live payment and may take longer. Later payouts follow the account-specific payout schedule. If you use platform mode without Stripe Connect, ScanRaise collects the donations and pays out monthly by check or bank transfer.
Can donors cover the fees?
Yes. Every donation page has a "cover the fees" checkbox. When the donor toggles it on, the charged amount is grossed up so your org still receives the full intended donation. The math is shown on the button right next to the toggle.
Do you charge for refunds?
When the ScanRaise refund feature is available, an eligible donation refunded through it works as follows: the donor receives the full original charge and ScanRaise returns its 2.5% platform fee. Stripe does not return its processing fee, so the organization absorbs that cost. Duplicate or unauthorized charges can also qualify for a platform-fee refund. Contact the receiving organization to request a refund; see the Terms for eligibility and other transaction types.
What payment methods do you accept?
Card payment is available. Apple Pay or Google Pay may appear when the donor's device, browser, country, and the organization's Stripe settings support the wallet. Donors do not need an account or a ScanRaise app.
Are there volume discounts for large districts?
For school districts, multi-site sports leagues, or other large multi-org deployments processing more than $250,000/year through ScanRaise, contact us about district pricing. The default is 2.5% for everyone.
Is there a free trial?
There's no trial because there's nothing to trial - the platform is free to use. You only pay the 2.5% fee when a donation is processed. Sign up, build your campaign, and you owe nothing until money moves.
