ScanRaise is built and operated by StanHattie LLC, a software company formed in Iowa in 2023. We are a small, independent team, not a venture-backed sales organization, and we answer our own support email. Why we built it

ScanRaise started with a K-12 fundraiser in Iowa. The old way was paper order forms that never came back, envelopes of cash a volunteer treasurer had to count, and platforms that quietly took a large cut of every dollar raised. Families wanted to give but nobody carried cash to the door anymore.

So we built a direct link between a donor's phone and an organization's bank account: a QR code on a printed card. The donor scans, picks an amount, and pays by card. Apple Pay or Google Pay may appear when supported. The organization watches the total climb on a live leaderboard. No ScanRaise app is required.

How the money works

Use your organization's Stripe account, let ScanRaise collect, or link QR cards to existing donation pages; see how the collection choices work. If you use your organization's Stripe account, Stripe pays your bank according to your account's verification status and payout schedule. When your cards link to existing donation pages, that provider handles payments and payouts.

Gifts processed by ScanRaise have a 2.5% platform fee plus payment processing. Donors can add an estimated amount toward fees on one time gifts. Actual processing costs may vary. Standard fundraising has no setup or monthly fee. Political campaigns can add paid monthly plans for canvassing tools.

Trust, privacy, and student data

ScanRaise handles donations and, for schools, student rosters. We treat that as the bar we are held to, not a feature to bolt on later.

• Listed in the SDPC resource registry maintained by the Student Data Privacy Consortium.
• Parental-consent and student-data controls. Adult organizers control public participant display names and are instructed to use first name and last initial for children. Schools remain responsible for their notices, agreements, configuration, and legal review.
• Clever Library sign-in for teachers and ClassLink SSO for K-12 districts, available for enabled organizations subject to provider and school or district approval.
• Payments handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1). ScanRaise never sees full card or bank numbers.
• Automated off-site encrypted database backups and passwordless sign-in by magic link or passkey.
• StanHattie LLC carries General Liability and Errors and Omissions coverage through Next Insurance.
