Estimate, not a promise: Actual charges can vary with provider settings and payment details. A lower fee in this table does not establish that a platform is a better operational fit.

Reproduce the math

Every formula and assumption

Let A be the donation amount and N be the optional monthly number of donations. Round means round to the nearest cent. For a monthly estimate, the percentage is applied to A times N and rounded once, then each fixed transaction charge is multiplied by N. Because vendor pages do not publish rounding policies, actual totals can differ by a few cents.

99Pledges

Platform fee: $0.00.

Processing estimate: round(A times 3.49%) plus $0.49.

Net: A minus processing.

At $50: $0.00 platform + $2.24 processing = $2.24 total fees; $47.76 net.

Givebacks

Model: Fundraiser Tip Model using Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. Optional donor tips are excluded.

Platform fee: $0.00, even if no donor tips.

Processing estimate: round(A times 2.9%) plus $0.30.

Net: A minus processing.

Sources: Givebacks pricing and fundraiser pricing details. Retrieved August 21, 2026.

Cheddar Up

Model: Free plan card payment with the organizer absorbing the fee.

Combined convenience fee: round(A times 3.95%) plus $0.95.

Net: A minus the combined fee.

Cheddar Up publishes the combined fee as a processing or convenience fee, not a separate platform and processor split. Payers cover it by default, but organizers can change the setting.

Sources: Cheddar Up pricing and fee details. Retrieved August 21, 2026.

Givebutter

Model: Standard pricing with tips disabled, a card payment, and organization-paid fees.

Platform fee: round(A times 3%).

Processing estimate: round(A times 2.9%) plus $0.30.

Net: A minus the platform fee minus processing.

With optional tips enabled, eligible transactions can instead have $0 in organization-paid platform and processing fees under the Givebutter Guarantee. Legacy pricing and listed exceptions can differ.

FutureFund

Model: Online card donation or fundraiser with the school absorbing the fee.

Combined platform fee: round(A times 4.9%) plus $0.30.

Net: A minus the combined fee.

FutureFund says this combined fee includes processing and platform costs, without publishing the split. Its standard pricing page places the fee on the supporter so the school keeps A. Public support documentation also allows the school-paid setting modeled here.

Why three rows have no result

Boosterthon
Booster says it charges a percentage based on the selected support level, but its public pages do not state the exact percentage or a separate processing formula. An average retained amount is not a rate formula, so no fee or net is calculated. Official pricing FAQ, retrieved August 21, 2026.
Snap! Raise
Snap! Raise says pricing is tailored to the school and partnership. Its pricing page does not publish a fixed platform rate or a separate processing formula, so no fee or net is calculated. Official pricing, retrieved August 21, 2026.
GetMovin
GetMovin publishes an average group cost after donor credits, not the underlying usage rate, card-processing formula, or donor-credit formula. An average is not converted into an estimate. Official pricing, retrieved August 21, 2026.

Static example

Worked $50 ScanRaise donation

This example is part of the page itself, so it remains readable without JavaScript.

  1. Platform fee$50.00 times 2.5% = $1.25
  2. Stripe processing estimate($50.00 times 2.9%) + $0.30 = $1.75
  3. Total estimated fees$1.25 + $1.75 = $3.00
  4. Net to organization$50.00 minus $3.00 = $47.00

Fee explainer

What the columns mean

Platform fee

The amount a provider charges for use of its fundraising software or service. Some providers fund the platform with optional tips, a combined fee, a subscription, or a custom proposal instead of one published percentage.

Payment processing

The card acceptance charge, usually a percentage plus a fixed amount for each transaction. A fixed charge makes gift count and average gift size important in a monthly estimate.

Net to organization

The entered gross donation minus every calculable fee under this tool's stated model. It is an estimate, not a payout promise or a prediction of fundraising results.

Tips and fee coverage

An optional tip pays the platform. Fee coverage asks a supporter to pay some or all fees. Both can change donor checkout totals, so this calculator excludes them and states who is assumed to pay.

Questions

Fundraising fee calculator FAQ

Are these results exact?

No. They are planning estimates based on the public rates and assumptions shown on this page. Card mix, account-specific pricing, fee settings, refunds, disputes, and provider rounding can change actual proceeds.

Why are Boosterthon, Snap! Raise, and GetMovin not calculated?

Their public pages do not provide an exact formula that can reproduce a fee for any entered donation. Custom prices and averages are useful context, but they are not safe inputs for deterministic arithmetic.

Does the calculator include donor tips or fee coverage?

No. Optional tips and donor fee coverage are excluded. The organization is assumed to absorb each calculable fee so the net estimates use one consistent fee-payer assumption.

How does monthly rounding work?

The calculator applies each percentage to the total gross amount for the entered donation count, rounds that component to cents, then adds the fixed fee for each transaction. Providers can round individual transactions differently, so monthly actuals may vary by a few cents.
