Turn your volunteer army into a tracked field operation
Routes assigned, miles tracked, doors logged, donations raised. The campaign manager sees who actually walked the routes, who raised, and who showed up empty-handed but put in the miles. Recognition is composite, not just dollars.

How a canvass-a-thon works on ScanRaise
What's in the box
Turf drawer
Draw and edit a polygon on a map. Each enforceable turf can be assigned to a group of canvassers.
Per-canvasser routes
Each volunteer gets a personal sub-section of the turf with custom instructions ("walk down 87th, back up 86th, between 1st and 7th Ave").
GPS route checks
The phone records a route while /canvass is open. Server checks flag suspicious speed, jumps, and zone mismatches for organizer review.
Door log
Five-button user-reported outcome tracking: Conversation, Knocked, No Answer, Refused, Do Not Contact. Logged with submitted lat/lng, no voter identity captured.
Donor QR at every door
Volunteer's personal QR code on a printed card. Voters scan, donate, the canvasser gets credit on the leaderboard.
Composite scoring
Effort score = donations + miles + doors, weighted. The volunteer who walked 15 miles in a tough precinct ranks even if the wallets stayed shut.
Dispatch dashboard
Map of saved walk routes and recent door locations, plus a leaderboard and totals by precinct. Refreshes every 30 seconds.
Built-in phone tracking
Volunteers record their route in /canvass while the page is open. Watch and fitness-provider import is not part of this flow.
The day, end to end
Saturday morning kickoff
Campaign manager opens dispatch. Sees 32 canvassers across 4 wards. Each one has a turf and a route assigned the night before.
Volunteers walk
Each volunteer opens /canvass on their phone. GPS consent prompt, then their route appears with a map. They start walking.
Every door logged
Tap. Tap. Tap. Conversation at house #4. Donation scanned at house #7 ($25, covered fees). No answer at #8 through #14. Tap. Tap.
Manager reviews updates
Dispatch shows recent door locations, saved walks, leaderboard updates, and current totals as submissions arrive.
End of day recognition
The manager reviews the composite leaderboard. Sarah ranks #1 on doors. Maria ranks #1 on dollars. Mike ranks #2 overall on recorded effort despite raising less.

A note on canvasser privacy and FEC
GPS tracking is opt-in. Volunteers see a consent screen the first time they open /canvass and tracking only runs while the page is open. Door logs capture lat/lng + outcome but never voter identity. Donation data exports as CSV for FEC reporting (donor name, address, employer, occupation when over $200, when you flag a campaign as fec_reportable). ScanRaise is a technology platform, not a campaign finance advisor - confirm contribution limits and compliance requirements with your campaign finance attorney.
