Set Up a Raffle
What's built in
Online ticket sales. Donor visits the raffle URL, picks a ticket pack, pays via Stripe (card / Apple Pay / Google Pay). Each ticket gets a unique, opaque entry ID logged to the database.
Tiered ticket pricing. $5/each, 5 for $20, 12 for $40. Donors pick the pack that fits their budget. Org-side: set up to 5 tiers per raffle.
Verifiable random drawing. Each ticket gets a unique entry ID. The drawing uses a documented random algorithm with an auditable log of all entries and the drawn ID. Multi-prize draws (1st, 2nd, 3rd places) supported with no-duplicate-winner enforcement.
Auto-email winners. When the drawing fires, the winning ticket holders get an immediate email with the prize details and pickup instructions.
State-by-state regulation note. Raffles are regulated differently in every state (some require a charity registration, some require minimum/maximum prize values, some prohibit them entirely). The platform doesn't auto-block based on state, but the help center has a per-state checklist.
Raffle formats that work
Family-night basket raffle. 8-12 themed baskets ("date night", "garden", "kids art"). Tickets sell for 2 weeks before the school's family-night event. Drawing live on stage at the event with the winners projected.
50/50 split raffle. Single-prize raffle where the winner takes 50% of the pot and the org keeps 50%. Common at sports events.
Big-prize annual raffle. A single high-value prize (vacation package, signed artwork, vehicle). Tickets sell over a 3-month window. Drawing at the annual gala.
Multi-tier raffle. 1st prize / 2nd prize / 3rd prize all drawn from the same ticket pool. Higher engagement because three winners means better odds.
