Connect your Facebook page
Two paths. Pick the easy one if your Facebook page is set up normally; fall back to the manual path only if Meta blocks the one-click flow for some reason (usually a brand-new page or a page on hold).
Easy path: one-click Connect with Facebook
This is the path most orgs use. Takes about 30 seconds.
- Go to your org's Social accounts page (Dashboard → your org → Social).
- Click the blue Connect with Facebook button.
- You will be redirected to Facebook. Sign in if you are not already.
- Facebook shows a list of pages you admin. Pick the page you want to post from.
- Approve the permissions: read posts, manage posts, page show list. We never post to your personal profile.
- You will be bounced back to ScanRaise with a green "Connected" pill. Done.
If you also have an Instagram Business account linked to that Facebook page, we connect Instagram in the same step. Nothing extra to do.
Manual path: paste a Page Access Token
Use this only if the Connect with Facebook button does not work for your page. You will need a Meta developer account; takes about 5 minutes.
- Go to developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer and sign in with the Facebook account that admins your page.
- In the top-right dropdown, switch Meta App to your own app (or create one in developers.facebook.com/apps if you do not have one).
- Switch the User or Page dropdown to your page. Facebook will issue a Page Access Token tied to that page.
-
In the Permissions picker, add:
pages_show_list,pages_read_engagement,pages_manage_posts, and (if you also want Instagram)instagram_basic+instagram_content_publish. - Click Generate Access Token, accept the consent dialog, and copy the token that appears.
- The default token is short-lived (1-2 hours). Exchange it for a long-lived (60-day) token at developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/accesstoken: paste the token, click Extend Access Token, copy the new long-lived token.
- Find your Page ID: open your page on facebook.com, scroll to the very bottom of About, copy the long number labeled "Page ID".
- Back on ScanRaise, expand the "I have a Page Access Token already" section, paste the Page ID and the long-lived token, and click Save token.
Long-lived Page tokens expire after 60 days. We will email you a reminder a week before that date so you can swap in a fresh one.
Common gotchas
- Facebook says I do not have any pages.
- Page admins (not just members) can connect. If you see "no pages", you are signed in to a Facebook account that is not an admin on the page you want to post to. Sign out, sign in as the page admin, retry.
- Connect succeeded but my posts say "no permissions".
- The page may be on hold for review or the page itself was published as a personal profile. Both are Meta-side issues. Visit facebook.com/business/help or contact Meta support.
- Can I post to a Facebook group?
- Not yet. Meta's API for group posting was deprecated in 2022. We support pages only.
- Will posts show up as "ScanRaise" or as my org?
- As your org. Posts go through your page's identity. ScanRaise never appears on the post.
