Connect your Bluesky account
Bluesky uses a simple "app password" instead of OAuth. You generate one inside Bluesky's settings, paste it on ScanRaise, done. App passwords are limited - they can post on your behalf but cannot change your account settings or read your DMs.
Important: do NOT use your real account password.
Use Bluesky's App passwords feature. App passwords are revocable and limited; your real account password should never leave bsky.app.
Step 1: Generate a Bluesky app password
- Go to bsky.app and sign in with your org's account.
- Click your avatar → Settings (gear icon).
- Scroll to Privacy and Security.
- Click App Passwords.
- Click Add App Password. Name it something like "ScanRaise".
- Bluesky shows a string of letters and dashes (e.g.
abcd-efgh-ijkl-mnop). Copy it now - it only shows once.
Step 2: Connect on ScanRaise
- Go to your org's Social accounts page (Dashboard → your org → Social).
- On the Bluesky card, type your handle (e.g.
greenwoodpta.bsky.social). - Paste the app password.
- Click Connect Bluesky. You should see a green "Connected" pill.
Common gotchas
- What is my handle?
- It is your Bluesky username, including the domain. If you signed up the standard way, it ends in
.bsky.social(e.g.greenwoodpta.bsky.social). If you set a custom domain, use that. - The app password did not work.
- Bluesky app passwords are case-sensitive and include the dashes. Easiest is to copy-paste rather than retype. If still failing, generate a fresh one.
- How do I revoke a connected app password?
- Go back to bsky.app → Settings → Privacy and Security → App Passwords, click the trash icon next to "ScanRaise". The connection on our side will start failing - reconnect with a new app password whenever you want.
- Will my posts say "via ScanRaise"?
- No. Posts go out natively from your handle, no app attribution.
