For Escape Rooms

Add fundraising to your team-building package

Print a deck of paper QR cards in the lobby. Each card is a pre-approved beneficiary, a local food bank, the AHA, the children's hospital, an employee assistance fund. Players collect cards as they solve puzzles. The boss scans them on exit and pays once. The team-building day produces real money for real causes, not a stack of group selfies.

The escape-room playbook, end to end

Paper QR cards on every wall placard. No phones inside the room (the genre demands it). The cards live on physical clue cards, badges, or rewards the team picks up during the experience.
Curated beneficiary shortlist. You pre-approve 5-10 nonprofits the team can direct funds to. Players pick on exit; the venue's brand stays clean (no ad-hoc charities you didn't vet).
Cart-mode payment. The boss (or a single payer) scans every QR card the team gathered and adds it to a running cart. One Stripe Checkout. The cart total splits across the chosen beneficiaries on success.
Boss-pays or pre-funded. Two payment configs: boss settles up after the room, OR sponsor pre-funds a pool and the team allocates the dollars to specific beneficiaries during the experience.
Venue keeps 100% of the booking. The fundraising is bolted on to the team-building package; ScanRaise's 2.5% only applies to the donation portion, not the room booking. The venue's revenue model is unchanged.

Two payment modes the venue picks at booking time

Boss-pays mode. Booking total is fixed ($500/team). After the room, the boss decides allocations and pays once. Fastest path to revenue, the venue upsold the team-building package.
Pre-funded sponsorship pool mode. The boss prefunds $1,000 at booking. During the experience, players allocate dollars to beneficiaries by scanning their QR cards. Money is already in the platform; allocations are instant.
Hybrid. Booking covers the room + a base donation ($500 + $250). Players can also add their personal pledges per QR. Mix-and-match by venue / package.

Why this is the next obvious step for escape rooms

Differentiation

Beat the price race to the bottom

Most escape rooms compete on price and theme. Adding a fundraising component moves the conversation up: "we're a team-building venue with a charitable component" beats "we have a hard escape room." Corporate buyers paying $50/person/hour budgets care about that distinction; the cost of fielding the QR-card workflow is near zero.

Revenue Share

1.25% effective fee for the venue

ScanRaise charges 2.5% on the donation portion, of which we split half with the partnering venue. Effective rate to ScanRaise: 1.25%. The venue gets a recurring revenue line on every team-building booking that includes the fundraising add-on, with zero new infrastructure to maintain.

Phones-Off, By Design

The genre constraint becomes a feature

Other fundraising platforms require donors on their phones during the experience. Escape rooms famously require phones to be off. ScanRaise's paper-QR + cart-on-exit pattern is the only model that fits. Competitive moat for venues that adopt early.
