Community mode is for the moment your group wants to raise money for someone else: a partner nonprofit, a neighbor in crisis, a mutual-aid pool, a mission-trip cohort. The org keeps 100% of every dollar. Donors can cover the Stripe processing fee at checkout, so the cause receives the full amount. No Stripe Connect required, no separate payout setup, no platform fee.

How community mode works
0% platform fee. ScanRaise charges nothing on community-mode campaigns. The only deduction is Stripe's processing cost (roughly 2.9% + 30c per transaction), and the donor can cover that at checkout. The cause gets 100%.
No Stripe Connect setup required. Native mode requires the org to onboard a Stripe Connect account so the platform can route payouts. Community mode skips all of that. Pick "community" at campaign creation and you're collecting in minutes, not days.
"100% goes to the cause" message at checkout. Donors see the message inline so they know nothing is being skimmed off the top. Optional donor-cover-fees toggle nets the cause the full pledged amount.
Same QR code, donate page, and dashboard. Community drives use the same scanner-friendly QR card, the same donate flow, the same totals dashboard, and the same email receipts. The mode toggle changes the fee math, not the donor experience.
Different from native mode. Native mode uses Stripe Connect destination charges with the 2.5% platform fee, and the org gets paid through their own connected account. Pick the mode that fits the partnership: native when your org keeps the money, community when an outside cause does.
Where community drives fit
Company match drives. Your business runs an internal matching campaign for an external charity. Employees give through the QR code, the company matches, the charity gets 100% of both.
Neighborhood fundraisers. A house fire, a medical emergency, a memorial fund. Spin up a community drive in a few minutes. The recipient family or partner nonprofit receives every dollar.
Mutual aid pools. Tenant-union assistance funds, post-disaster relief drives, food-bank push weeks. No platform fee means more dollars at the door for the people who actually need them.
Mission-trip fundraising for a partner. A youth group raising for a partner organization in another country. The trip cost passes through; the partner receives the donations directly without a Stripe Connect step.
Sponsor-a-family / holiday drives. Schools, churches, and civic groups running adopt-a-family or holiday-meal programs for partner shelters. Community mode keeps the program lightweight and the partner whole.
